They take religion seriously here. The only road through the village was closed for 2 hours for this procession and celebration. An unexpected treat to be here for it. Buses and cars backed up for miles. We could walk to it.
The celebration began at 5 am with the ringing of church bells from around the area and the very loud firing of rifles. This continued on the hour until noon .

Firing - the two little boys next to the girls are carrying fake guns. After the real guns are fired they run out and pick up the shells in blue bags hanging at their side. You can also see the size of the banners that were carried
