It was hot here today but as I write that I think of my friends in India who would love to have 84 degrees rather the 114 degrees and a water shortage.
After the wedding last night I fully presumed there would be another tonight. But something much more fun and exciting for me. This afternoon we saw a huge amount of audio equipment being brought to the hotel. When we arrived back to night there was much acticity by the entrance to the bar. Our Turkish friend whose name I need to get, told us there was a GLBT party going on and that soon became clear both form the great time you could hear and the folks coming and going.
These two presenting women were standing at the entrance and I asked if I could take their picture. The told me to join them Just then the person with the wig came out and I motioned that person to join the picture. I should have gotten more pictures as it was a great fashion show and all were thoroughly enjoying themselves. The shimmering silver curtain behind us covers the entrance to the party but only partly.
We took the UBahn (subway) into the old town and relaxed and people
watched and ate ice cream and arranged for tickets for the concert tonight of Mozart's Requiem at the church below, Karlskirche.
The US is not the only country with much to learn about race
I love this statue.
Water is low here too
Kids having fun!
Returned to our hotel for a nap so I would be ready for the concert which was an excellent idea.
Taking the UBahn back in to the concert
Sign at the entry to the concert. Just as well Norbert left his home :)
Setting for the concert
Bruckner is burred in this church.
Those of you who are familiar with Mozarts Requiem composed at the end of his life, know the power of this music to make one's heart sing. It was transcendent.
When we came out into the night we found a very comfortably cool evening and the reflecting pool
in front of the church an obvious gathering place for a relaxing evening.
This porter at our hotel has the greatest personality. He is Turkish and we were able to tell him of our Turkish adventures. When I asked to take his picture he told me he was nobody and regaled me with all the international dignitaries who would be coming. I told him I found him much more interesting. After the wedding last night I fully presumed there would be another tonight. But something much more fun and exciting for me. This day was full of the kind of adventures I love.
