Dinner At a vegan restaurant with Daniela and Emre

Vegans eat nothing that comes from an animal or live creature so I wasn't sure what to expect. No meat, no eggs or dairy products.

 The Menu Cover.

Alcohol free beer and alcohol free sparkling wine
 Appetizer with mushrooms and sprouts
This restaurant is so popular you have to have reservations

Emre had soya steak filled with spinach with a corn flake crust. My taste of it said delicious!
Norbert had  Truffle Ravioili with a proseco "cream" sauce also very good!
I had Schnitzel and loved it
But the very best was this ice cream!!!  Made with soy milk and natural flavors.

It was so good being with these wonderful friends again.  They are such caring people They are "food savers"  so every Tue night they go to a grocery store and pick up the unsold produce and deliver it to a food bank where ANYONE can come and get some of it.  It is about not wasting food but also serves to help people who are struggling.

We stayed with them two years ago as couchsurfers and now we stay as friends.

Today we fly home.

Next trip Ireland and Wales August/September

Old Cemetery near home of our hosts Daniela and Emre

So after the stair climb yesterday  I expected to be out of commission today.  Not so.  It is another beautiful sunny day.  We decided to go for a walk in the old cemetery near Daniela and Emre's home.  We actually walked around the beautiful grounds for over an hour.  It has paths through the trees where we found many with strollers,  people sitting on the benches reading.

 Even a playground

Across the street we found a Franciscan Church and retreat center.  St Anton (Anthony)
This was the most contemporary church we visited on this trip

Stations of the cross all in this alcove
Life of St Anton in long murals along each side

Peterskirche across from the New Rathaus has the best view in Munich.  It is reached only by climbing the 306 stairs.

Munich Tuesday - a perfect sunny day.
The the Bürgersaalkirche where Fr Rupert Mayer S.J. is buried.  He served time in isolation and in concentration camps for preaching against Hitler.  He was beatified by Pope John Paul II in Munich in 1987 We arrived for noon Mass at this church today.  He is buried in the lower church and there was a steady stream of people venerating his grave. He died of a stroke while celebrating Mass on All Saints Day 1945.
